The Olof Palme International Center is the umbrella organization for the Swedish labor movement and works in the spirit of Olof Palme for democracy, human rights, and peace. The Swedish labor movement has a long tradition of solidarity and we are proud to keep this tradition alive. Together with our 27 member organizations, we cooperate with people and organizations throughout the world, in countries such as Palestine, Serbia, South Africa, the Philippines, and Zimbabwe.

The Palme Center and our member organizations are engaged in over 200 development projects in more than 20 countries.

The Olof Palme International Center was founded in 1992 by The Swedish Social Democratic Party, The Swedish Trade Union Confederation, and The Swedish Cooperative Union. The Board consists of representatives from the member organizations. The Chairperson is Wanja Lundy-Wedin and the Secretary-General is Anna Sundström.

The Palme Center works in the spirit of Olof Palme for democracy, human rights, and peace. We cooperate with people and organizations throughout the world, in nations such as Burma, South Africa, Palestine, and the countries in the Western Balkans.

Through our development projects, we seek to empower people to change their societies and thereby their own lives. Women, youth, and grassroots activists are our main target groups. The Swedish labor movement’s extensive international network enables cooperation with global partners who share our values.
