Entrepreneurship for young people – Join now !! - Press conference

The project "Entrepreneurship for young people – Join now !!", which will be implemented in Kolasin and Mojkovac by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) Cluster Initiative and Light, should make it easier for the population to start their own businesses and overcome barriers in the coming period.

This project is being implemented under the initiative WEB4YES - Western Balkan Civil Society Organizations for Youth Employment Support, coordinated by Belgrade Open School, with the financial support of the EU.

As the two NGOs announced at today's press conference, the realization of the project implies cooperation with the Employment Service, as well as with local administrations in the two municipalities.

"The goals are to improve the business environment for young people, improve entrepreneurial knowledge and skills and foster mentoring services. The project is intended to help young people translate their business ideasinto a quality business plan, which they can later apply for funding from state institutions or banks, ” said Miovan Vlahovic from the Kolasin NGO Cluster Initiative.

According to his colleague Balsa Cvetkovic, 15 business plans will be written during the project implementation and the focus will be on young people from rural areas. The plans will be outlined in a form that is suitable for applying for different grants

It is also planned for 40 participants from Kolašin and Mojkovac to undergo training at the workshops, after which they should more easily face administrative and other barriers to starting a business.

"We will work through three segments. First and foremost to education, in cooperation with the Employment Service. Then, to inform young people about the possibilities of lending to their business, independently of the PMI. Also important is the segment regarding the regulatory framework, which refers to the adoption of local actionplans for young people in two municipalities. We want to lay the foundations for some future decisions, which may also be regulated by subsidizing young people to start their own businesses." said Cvetkovic.

As he said, the number of unemployed young people in Mojkovac and Kolasin is record high
