Active Zone has organized an Online conference “Youth employment policy at the local level”. A conference has been organized within the project “Ideas for quality strategic planning of youth employment at the local level”, in cooperation with the partner organization Institute for business and financial literacy.
The above-mentioned project was financed by the Belgrade open school, as to co-financed by European Union, within the regional program WEB4YES.
The guests of the conference were: Ana Šćekić from the Youth club Berane, who presented the project “Empower me”, as well as Mirela Kalamperović from ADP-Zid-a, who spoke of regional support program WEB4YES, and Miloš Marković, the executive director of Active Zone, who presented the project results and details from the Guide for strategic planning of youth employment at the local level.
Ana Šćekić presented the “Empower me” project, which was funded by the Coca-Cola foundation and supported by many other actors at the local and national level. The project is in its initial phase and one of the first activities was to present the project through an online discussion, when both successful and inspiring young people were presented. Within the project, the website osnazime.org was created, as well as accounts on social networks, where young people can follow the activities. The organization of various activities intended for young people, especially women from the north, is expected soon, within which young people will have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills they need in process of employment and self-employment.
Mirela Kalamperović presented the regional program WEB4YES, which is an initiative of organizations from the region in terms of solving the problem of high youth unemployment in the region. This project brings together five organizations: Belgrade open school from Serbia, ADP-ZID from Montenegro, Beyond barriers from Albania, LENS from Kosovo, National youth council from Macedonia, KULT from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Olof Palme international fund. Within this project, several different reports on the situation on the ground were created, which relate to active measures of youth employment, lifelong learning and youth entrepreneurship and through the implementation of the project a total of 17 different projects from the region were financed. From Montenegro, three organizations received financial support for the implementation of the project at the local level: Active Zone, Kolasin Cluster Initiative and CEPS.
Miloš Marković presented the results of an online survey (questionnaire), which examined the views and opinions of 253 young people from the territory of Montenegro, aged 15 to 30, as well as the content of the Guide, which is intended for representatives of local government, local NGOs and other stakeholders, youth employment institutions. The survey was conducted during February and March 2020 and the aim of the survey was to collect data on the attitudes and opinions of young people about the employment process in Montenegro.
