In the frame of Youth Online Work, supported by the WeB4YES project – Western Balkan Civil Society Organizations for Youth Employment Support, a presentation was carried out on 21st of February 2020.
The presentation held in the auditorium of Albanian University, with around 40 students, highlights one of the project’s pillars, which is the introduction of the freelancer methodology of work as a need and innovative step towards integration in the modern labor market and new perspectives for the younger generation.
The project coordinator Envina Zavalani, presented the project and the project development so far, by pointing out the need to inspect new ways of employment for young people and embracing the freelancing possibilities and prospects in a global market. She also provided insights on the project platform and learning possibilities for the students alongside the possibility to create their own professional profile in the website.
Ira Topalli, project coordinator for WeB4YES project – Western Balkan Civil Society Organizations for Youth Employment Support, in Albania offered an overview of the project and program in general, by providing useful information to the present students and academic staff om possibilities offered the project for young people in the region.
Ana Dervishi, was another speaker in the presentation, as chairwoman of the Beyond the Barriers Organization. In the frame of the youth worker and experience with supporting young people and youth organizations on the EC funds and possibilities, she provided useful information on grants, youth and academic exchanges within the EU and start up possibilities for young people to support the freelancer initiative.
Ajne Muja, trainer in graphic design and alumnae of the University as a success case study that took students through her experience with freelancing just one year after graduation.
The presentation was moderated by Denis Zavalani, representing the Albanian National Orphans Association.
In the end students seemed to be thoroughly interested in the project and upcoming activities planned by the project. Their prospective fears and hesitations towards the future careers were answered by the panel and students were encouraged to take over any extracurricular activity which supports building up their CV and professional portfolio.
